Happy New Year! I begin by sharing that my New Year’s Eve was fun, festive, and spent with my husband, children and dear friends. We attended a party where our friends, The DadBeats band, played and had us dancing all night. My good friend, Lolly, organized this event with much love and put on a great party for our families and members of the Oakmont Country Club. Thank you Lolly and Simon for making our hearts smile as we said goodbye to 2014 and hello to 2015.
The positive remnants of 2014 will stay with me as I enter 2015, but the ugly stuff I “let it go”. Out with the old and in with the new, right? A year from now I’d like to envision a positive year filled with happy memories shared with family and friends, good health, new adventures experienced, goals achieved, and peace and love for everyone. I had a conversation with a friend last night and he said, “it kind of makes me a bit sad that the year will be over and done with”. I replied, “those who probably feel that way are the ones who had a good year and don’t want to let it go. Those who’ve had struggles in the year say, ‘I can’t wait for 2015 to get here. I’m done with 2014.'” Another friend said, “It’s not really a big deal to me that it’s a new year because I try to focus on the day being a new day every day”. Wow, now that’s some good stuff! Patti Ring you rock! This is very true. It is just another day filled with opportunities that can change us and inspire us to do well and be good. But having a set day in our world that tells us to START gives us a mental RESET button for all the things we don’t want to repeat and all the things we want to achieve. This feels good to me and probably to most too.
So, I start my new year by being grateful for everything I have in my life and everyone in it. Thank you, God, for this new and beautiful day/month/year!
Here’s to a year filled with HOPE, JOY, PEACE, LOVE, AND PROSPERITY FOR ALL!
Sincerely,
Leticia
